Global Somali Diaspora aims to be funded by the contribution of its members giving us independence, sustainability and genuine local, national and international ownership.
Membership dues are an investment in the leadership development of each member organisation; building a diaspora force for community challenges and; paying for the talent of an experienced operational staff.
All members of Global Somali Diaspora will pay annual membership fees, depending on their size and capacity to pay.
The GSD Board agrees to this dues structure, which aims to enable a financially sustainable organisation, and also be flexible enough to ensure that money does not become an insurmountable barrier for those less able to pay.
It should be clear which category each member is in, and the exact amount in that band can be negotiated, with the final say resting with the Board or Executive Committee.
Members benefit from input from the GSD’s leadership, access to training, a democratic influence on the agenda and strategy of the organisation, and access to a vibrant civil society network in Leicester and across the UK.
